The Whitewater Valley Railroad operates various regular scheduled trains and special event trains throughout the year. Train and Ticket Information is available by calling our Connersville Depot at (765) 825-2054.

All listed departure times are Eastern Daylight Savings Time. Indiana does NOW observe Eastern Daylight Savings Time!

All regularly scheduled trains run between May and October.

Connersville-Metamora Train

Visit Metamora, Indiana without worrying about parking!! This train departs from our Connersville depot at 12:01 pm on every Saturday and Sunday between May 1 and October 31. This trip offers a 2 hour lay over in Metamora good for shopping, eating, and site seeing. The train departs Metamora for Connersville at 3:30 pm to arrive at the Connersville Depot at 5:00 pm.

The round trip fares for this train are $20 for adult and $10 for kids, one way fares are $15 for adults and $8 for kids. Caboose tickets are available for $22 adult and $12 child.

Please note that our Connersville-Metamora Train is not running on the Weekends of June 21, 22, 28 and 29 due to our Day Out With Thomas Event.

Wild West Train

All Aboard with a western twist. Join the Delaware Rangers as they protect the Metamora bound train every 3rd Saturday May through October (excluding June). Come and see Bandits, Marshals, Robber Barons,Fancy and some Not So Fancy Women as you roll through the scenic countryside. Trains depart Connersville at 12:01 PM. The round trip fares for this train are $20 for adult and $10 for kids, one way fares are $15 for adults and $8 for kids.

Laurel Inn Train to Dinner

The Train to Dinner departs Connersville Station at 6 p.m. on the first and third Friday during the regular operating season, and travels to the Laurel Hotel. The cost is $29 per adult, $15 for children (special child's menu) and includes the round trip train ride, the meal, tax and tip. Reservations Required. Caboose Rentals

Bring the whole family, or a group of friends! Rent one of our cabooses for your private excursion to Metamora, and tag it on to the train. Limited Availability. $300 each. Make your reservation today! Also available on our Christmas Express for the rate of $400 per caboose. Maximum of 20 persons on most of our cabooses and not available on Wild West Trains, Civil War Train, Day Out With Thomas, Easter Bunny Express, Santa Express, or our Pumpkinliner. Cabooses are also available for Birthday Parties. Call the depot for more details.

Group Rates

Group fares are available for groups of 30 or more. Special School fares are also available. Reservations are required for all special fares. Call the depot for more information.

Charter Trains

Our train can be rented for special occasions. Past charters include Metamora Excursions, Train to Dinners, Wedding Specials, Photo Specials, Canal Tours, Rail Convention Specials, and Caboose Only Trains. Trips can depart both from the Connersville Station and Metamora. You can also choose either a one way or a round trip charter. Prices are based on the specific details of the trip. Call the depot for more information.

May Special - 2008

This is a special running of our Connersville to Metamora train that departs on every Thursday and Friday in the month of May. The train departs Connersville at 10:00am. The price is the same as our Connersville to Metamora train service. NOTE: Special Rates for School Groups by advance reservations for these days.

Civil War Train - July 4, 2008

Come along and take a trip back in time with us. Be in the middle of the action as an Union Army attachment protects the US Government Payroll. While along the line a relentless group of Confederate soldiers, simply known as Morgan's Raiders, plan and wait.

Wild West Train To Dinner with Steam - August 29, 2008

Flagg Coal Company # 75 will be making a special Wild West Themed Train to Dinner excursion from Historic Downtown Metamora to the Laurel Hotel Restaurant. Entertainment to be provided by the Delaware Rangers the train will depart at 6PM from Metamora. Fares are $50 per person and includes the round trip train ride, the meal, tax and tip. Steam Returns to Metamora - Labor Day Weekend 2008

In conjunction with the 10th Annual Metamora Music Festival, Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31, Festivities will start at 10:00 AM with four departures of Flagg Coal # 75 at 11:00 AM, 1:10 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM. Along the way, remnants of the Whitewater Canal locks, the restored Laurel Feeder Dam, and portions of the West Fork of the Whitewater River can be clearly seen. Fares for the scenic ten mile round trip excursion pulled by Flagg Coal #75 are $16 per person and children ages 2-12 ride for half price. Trips run rain or shine.

Enjoy Metamora Canal Days without worrying about parking. Our excursion leaves Connersville Grand Central Station at the times listed below. Caboose tickets & rentals are available for all trips.

Fall Foliage Trains - October 2008

Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage in the Whitewater River Valley between Connersville and Metamora on one of our Fall Foliage Trips. This special excursion runs every Thursday and Friday during October, departing Connersville station at 10:00 am, and allow a two hour stop over in Metamora for shopping.

Pumpkinliner - October 25, 2008

Bring the family out for a afternoon of fun. Enjoy a round trip from our Connersville Grand Central Station to our pumpkin patch. Your train ticket includes round trip service to the pumpkin patch, a hay ride to the patch, and a pumpkin from the field. Trains depart at 10:00, 12:30, and 2:30. Tickets are $8 for ages two and up and include a pumpkin for children age 11 and under. Tickets are Limited and Reservations are Recommended. Trains operate rain or shine.

THE POLAR EXPRESS rolls into Connersville's Grand Central Station this Holiday Season. The Polar Express will come to life when the train departs Connersville's Grand Central Station for a journey through the quiet countryside for a special visit to the "North Pole" with Santa Claus.

Santa Claus Express - Friday November 28, 2007

Board the train at Grand Central Station in Connersville to pick up Santa Claus along the way. Once on board Santa will come and visit with each child on the train. Train departs at 10am, 12pm and 2pm. $5 ages 2 and up.

Easter Bunny Express - Saturday April 11, 2009

The 8th annual running of the Easter Bunny Express will depart from our Connersville Grand Central Station and make 3 round trips south to the Easter Bunny Patch 2 miles away. Don't forget your Basket. Come and meet the Easter Bunny and hunt for his Golden Egg. The egg hunt is open to ages 8 and under. Reservations are recommended. Prices are $8.00/person 2 and up. Train operates rain or shine.
